German Shepherd Dog, Hound [Mix]

Jackson just arrived on 9/24/08 and is an instant hit! At 5 months old, he's 30 lbs. with some more growing to do. Check out his 'windswept' look in the one photo -- aren't his ears great?! This adorable boy loves people and other dogs, and he's reasonably calm for a young boy. He was awesome during his first car rides, and behaved like a perfect gentleman for his first bath. He also behaved politely when he met some kitties through their cages at the shelter. We can't wait to see how Jackson progresses with training. He arrived and got right down to his first lesson on day one, enjoying the chance to learn how to sit to receive attention and treats. He is a VERY clever pup! * * UPDATE FROM HANDLERS on 10/1: "We hate to reveal all the nice things about Jackson because we don't want him to leave us! He really is a wonderful boy --- affectionate, very smart, and a lot of fun." * * From what we see thus far, it looks like Jackson will make a wonderful family addition to a home with children.
