More About Samantha
Samantha and her sister Louise were adopted from a shelter when they were kittens and a year later their person moved and left them behind. They stayed on the balcony waiting for their person to return for them, but she never did! Neighbors felt sorry for them so they fed them and 9 long years went by. When a Good Mews volunteer living in the area found out about it she was able to bring them to the shelter when space was available.
Louise was very forgiving of her situation and loved people; Samantha, not so much! She was very unhappy that her person up and left her and decided humans were not her thing! We tried to tell her not all humans are alike, but she is still thinking on this.
Louise had a lot of medical issues and although Good Mews did everything we could for her, she is now at the Rainbow Bridge . To see a picture of our sweet Louise, visit our Rainbow Bridge tab on the website.
We are proud to say Samantha has come a long way from where she was when she first came to the shelter. She is starting to gain our trust and realizing we are not all that bad. She still has a little ways to go, but in time, I know she will come around.
I don’t think Samantha will ever be a lap cat (but hey, you never know!), but if you are just looking for someone to share your home with and have someone to talk to and listen to how your day went, Samantha is your girl.. She is a great listener and would love to hear your problems and I bet when you are done telling her about them, you will feel a lot better!
Samantha also enjoys the company of other cats, so she would like to be in a home with some feline friends!
Samantha is 11 years old, so she is eligible for our Golden Companions Adoption Special - anyone 65 or over can adopt one of our older cats for $65. Everyone knows that senior pets are harder to adopt than their kitten or young adult friends. Research has shown the medical benefits of owning a pet, especially as we get older. They lower stress, lower blood pressure and make us happier. Senior felines make a great match for senior humans!
Samantha is
up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
