More About Dylan

Dylan is big, probably around 80 pounds. Dylan has some issues and would need a very dog savvy owner who is 'in charge'. He is actually on hold because we are considering euthanizing him. We have kids that will play with the kennel dogs and they were walking Dylan and trying to get him to sit when he froze and stared at them. I took him away from them and thought ok no kids. Dylan is extremley dog aggressive. He will decide on sight if he will like or not like that dog. I used to let him out with other dogs and we'd go to the pond. Dylan would stay close to the barn marking on things and the other dogs would go to the pond. Dylan started attacking the other dogs. Thats when I said ok no dogs and started letting Dylan out only by himself. He went up to fence fight with another dog and when I went to pull him away he stopped, stared at me, and growled. Unfortunately I backed down. I was alone and did not think I would win this. I let go of him and went to get a slip lead. He went into his cage on his own but things haven't been the same since. This was a year ago. I believe he is not safe to be around. Even when I try to get him to be happy when I'm petting him he just stands there and waits for me to stop.

We are basically a no-kill organization. We do not kill for space, because a dog isn't 'easily' placed, has fear issues, etc. But we will put a dog to sleep that is dominant human agressive. Dylan fits that category so I think the safest thing to do is to have him put to sleep :-(
