I haven't lost my voice yet but I spend a lot of time talking. I talk, talk, talk til I get out for exercise. Then I persistently meow until the workers or volunteers pet me. I have them trained. It wasn't too hard, you just have to know how to speak their language.
I will tolerate being picked up for short periods of time. Mainly I prefer to sit next to you or just be beside you while you stroke my fur.
I'm in good shape, not thin but not a big girl either. I am only crabby when they try putting me back into my apartment. Do you know what I do then? I put on my best pouty face and I just start singing. I have sort of a raspy meow, maybe like Billie Holiday.
If you'd like my autograph or to hear how sweet my songs really are, stop by the shelter and I'll entertain you with my own personal concert.
