More About Sally

Sponsor message: Sally is being sponsored in dedication of Amanda - my first four legged love.

Trainer Adam Bush has been working extensively with Sally. Click on this link to read his testimony on our wonderful girl, Sally.

IDEAL HOME FOR SALLY : Dog experience a must, Bully-breed experience even better. Sally would be an ideal candidate for someone looking for a running/jogging/fast walking partner as she has lots of energy. A dog owner who would be content to have Sally as the only dog in the home. Ideally that owner would also have a secure fenced yard in which Sally could run and play off-leash.

SALLY'S PHOTO GALLERY

~DOB: April 2007
AGE RANGE: Young -- aged 1-3, puppy stage for most breeds, fun but needs lots of attention, training and reinforcement.
WEIGHT: 45lbs.
HEALTH STATUS: Sally is UTD on all her vaccinations -- including rabies -- and on monthly heartworm prevention
STERILIZED: Spayed
MICROCHIPPED: Yes
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Sally has high energy. She will thrive in a home that can provide her plenty of exercise -- like fast walking or long walks. She'd also love to be your running/jogging partner. A secure fenced-in yard would be a plus.

SOCIABILITY WITH DOGS: Sally needs to be the one and only dog in your home.
SOCIABILITY WITH CATS: Untested, but likely not good with cats. Most Terriers of any breed have a strong prey drive.
AROUND CHILDREN: Sally is too energetic for a home with small/young children. She has lived with teenagers so is a good candidate in a home with older children who know how to treat a dog with kindness and respect.
HOUSEBROKEN: Sally may need to be housetrained again, but she is so smart she will learn quickly. Because we have had no foster homes that fit her needs, Sally has lived at Suite Paws Pet Resort and Spa since February 2009.
CRATETRAINED: Sally is not destructive and doesn't need to be crated.
LEASH MANNERS: Sally does very well on a prong collar. She does pull on a prong collar but not near as much as she does when she has a regular collar on. We are currently working with Sally on her leash manners. She is making progress and is very eager to learn.
IN THE CAR: Loves a good car ride
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Loving, eager to please, energetic, highly intelligent.
STATUS: Accepting applications
COMMENTS FROM FOSTER HOME: Sally is extremely sweet. She needs someone who will be able to give her the attention she craves. Sally loves all humans, no matter the size, shape, age, gender or political leanings !

Sally LOVES to run and play in the backyard. She also likes to go on long leash walks. Sally is a strong girl and has lots of energy. She would be an ideal running/jogging partner.

Sally has had training in basic commands -- she knows "sit," "down" (lay down), "sit/stay" and she can rollover. She's very food/treat driven and will do almost anything to win the treat in your hand. Sally is a very smart dog and quick learner.

Sally is a very special dog looking for a very special owner. If you can meet her needs, she'll be a most loyal companion.

HISTORY: Sally was found wandering as a stray near a busy road. Her rescuer was fearful she would be hit by a car. When he knelt down, Sally came running with tail wagging. She was under nourished and covered with ticks. A kind volunteer took her home, gave her food and made sure she was healthy. Now, Sally is looking for her forever home and if you choose to include Sally as part of your family, you will have chosen a loving companion.

We prefer to adopt within a 30-mile radius of the Triangle area of North Carolina.
