More About Wild Fire

Wild Fire fire is a delicate, two year old tuxedo girl who has been at CAT since July of 2007. She was originally brought to the shelter with her kitten, after the two of them were found roaming around an apartment complex in McMinnville. It seems unlikely that she ever had a loving human home, as she is still very nervous around people after eight months living at the shelter. This special girl is going to need a patient, loving, experienced home to help her blossom into the wonderful cat she was meant to be.

Because she is so shy in the shelter environment, Wild fire can be a challenge to get to know. She spends most of her time on the highest shelf of her free-roaming room, as she can see all the going-ons and feel a little safer. She gets anxious when approached, but will allow you to pet her and pick her up. She has several devoted volunteers who dedicate time to visit her each week, and they have seen slow but steady progress with her. She will allow a little bit of lap time, but gets very frightened out of her environment--especially if put on the floor. She feels very vulnerable in new environments and does her best to find a hiding place as high up as she can find. She really pulls on your heartstrings, hiding her little face in her paws and hoping that no one will notice that she is there.

Despite her shyness, you can also see a great deal of goodness and gentleness in Wild fire. She will accept a lot of petting without any aggression. If approached quietly and petted gently, she will eventually relax a little and start to shyly enjoy the attention. She may give you some gentle kitty squinty-eye, which means she is starting to feel comfortable. She even enjoys a little chin rubbing. It is also rumored that she enjoyed a play session with one of her caregivers recently, which is just a small sign of what a joy she will be when she feel safe and loved.

Wild fire is a gorgeous girl. She is petite and sleek, primarily black with white tuxedo markings. She does a nice job at keeping herself groomed and beautiful. Although most of her face is black, her cute little chin and whiskers are white. She also has white feet that look like adorable little slippers. The expression in her eyes appears sweet and kind.

Wild fire needs a loving and patient home, away from the activity and noise of the shelter. Sadly, Wild fire has spent almost half her young life in the shelter. She will likely take some time to realize she is safe in her new home with a loving family, but she will come out of her shell and be a rewarding cat. She should not live in a loud household, or a household with dogs or children. She has a good-natured relationship with the other cats in the free-roam room and was relinquished to the shelter with another cat. Her ideal family will know a great deal about cats, have lots of patience and unintrusive affection to give, and have a deep desire to rescue a cat who needs their unconditional love.
