More About Erin

We are looking for just the right home for this Whipperman (Whippet x Doberman). Erin is a leggy, skinny 2-year-old. She is special in so many ways!

Miss Erin is a ballerina. She strikes the most elegant and beautiful poses with those long legs of hers! Her play bow in particular is a work of art. Erin running is also a beautiful thing to behold.

Erin loves to tuck into a little ball next to you and bury her nose against your leg. But if you aren’t available, she loves to curl up with another dog.

Erin loves other dogs in the home! She is a playful girl who loves to tease and tussle with another dog.

Our Erin spent all her formative months in the shelter. For this reason, she has some special attributes that will require an equally special, kind-hearted and dog-experienced person:

Erin spins. When she’s nervous or excited, she will make you dizzy! It is hard-wired, so we are looking for someone who can learn to laugh about it – and who will run her in the opposite direction to keep her muscles balanced.

Erin still has some spookiness about unfamiliar things and also barrier frustration (on leash/in cars) due to so much time kenneled. A big Doberman voice can come out of that scrawny Whippet body! We will share tools to help you work with her on these issues – she is worth the effort!

Erin is *mostly* housetrained. But a dog door or a vigilant eye is best for Erin while you perfect her ability to “hold it.”

Oh, and NO CATS! They are way too fascinating.

Erin is in a foster home – please call or email the shelter for an appointment to meet Erin!

Adoption. A better option.
Size estimates: small = roughly 20# or less; large = roughly 50# or more; medium = in between!

Age is an ESTIMATE based on tooth wear, body condition (let's face it, we all thicken as we age ;), and general activity level.

This dog will be up-to-date on shots, dewormed, spayed/neutered and tested for heartworms. All dogs are socialized.
Home without cats preferred

Erin is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.
