More About Wilson and Poppy

Both Poppy and Wilson have been saved from pretty extreme circumstances. Poppy was abandoned by his owner and left to fend for himself on the street. He was rescued and is now being cared for by a S.I.C.A.W. volunteer. Poppy is a domestic short hair, black with white markings. Wilson's owner was tragically killed and he has also been rescued and is being cared for by a S.I.C.A.W. volunteer. Wilson is a gray domestic long hair.

While otherwise healthy, Poppy and Wilson have FIV, an immune deficiency. FIV is a very manageable condition and sounds worse than it actually is. It cannot be transmitted to a human or another animal, other than a cat. It is entirely possible for cats with FIV to live long, healthy, symptom-free lives with proper care and nutrition. Having FIV also means that Poppy and Wilson should either live with other FIV positive cats, be a single cat or live with a dog. FIV can be transmitted to other cats through biting.

Having FIV has not affected Poppy or Wilson's great personalities, but it has unfortunately greatly affected their chances of being adopted. They are both extremely friendly and wonderful cats with lots of love to give. They are very playful, enjoy head rubs and seek out human attention. We are looking for that someone special to open up their heart and home to one or both of these boys. We guarantee if you meet them, you will fall in love.
