More About Duchess

leaf line

Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption.

Hi, my name is Duchess.

I was taken to the shelter for my welfare. I am fine here but I miss living in a home. Do you have room in your heart and your home for me??

I am a young lady, somewhat around two years old and weigh around 60 pounds. I have already been spayed, given my basic shots, microchipped, and am heartworm negative.

UPDATE: I AM NOW LIVING IN A WONDERFUL FOSTER HOME!!!!

This is what my foster mom, Susan has to say about me, "If you are looking for a loyal, loving dog, Duchess is your girl. Duchess has had a pretty rough life. People haven't always been so kind to her. But you'd never know it. She LOVES people. She is so happy to be with people, she actually smiles. You can see her pretty smile in the picture.

Duchess has been in a kennel for two years. In spite of that, she has not had once accident in the house since being in foster care. She is a super smart dog and so eager to please. She listens well and learns quickly.

She does have a lot of energy and because of that, it may not be best for her to be with small children. She may knock them over, not to be mean, but because she is full of life and loves to play with her toys. Did I mention that? Duchess LOVES her squeak toys. She will need some training and Sheltered Paws will help pay for the training.

Duchess does not like other dogs. She does need to be kept away from other dogs. Cats, she seems interested in them but has not had too much experience with them. She doesn't appear to be aggressive towards them but seems to want to play, and as you can imagine, cats don't want to play with her!

Come meet Duchess and I promise you will fall in love with her. .
