Plott Hound, Boxer [Mix]

SAHARA is a stunning 2 yr old, female Plott hound-Boxer mix that weighs about 50lbs. Sahara is a gentle, sweet heart of a dog, housebroken, & well behaved indoors. She gives kisses and little chirps of happiness when you arrive to greet her. She currently lives with 5 dogs, & 2 cats, yet never has a cross moment with any of them. She enjoys playing with any dog even plays tug of war with them and chases for balls tossed in fetch. Sahara absolutely comes to life when outside, running around, playing tag with you, & hopefully wrestling with a doggie playmate. She has been obedience trained and knows her commands well. Sahara grew up in a rural setting, probably as a hunter's dog, kenneled outside. So she is still skittish around new people & prefers to lay quietly on her bed until they leave. Sahara's best adoptive home will be a relatively quiet one that does not require her to be outgoing with strangers, with a fenced yard since she adores being Outside, & even better to have a Doggie Playmate to run with & play chase! Sahara will repay your kindness with much affection as she lies close to you for comfort & companionship. Local adoptions preferred. Oh by the way these kind folks need temporary foster homes for dogs like this so they can save them from euthanasia. Please offer to become part of the solution. Due to insurance limitations we cannot adopt to families with kids under 8 yrs old. For the safety and well being of our dogs a fence or electric fence is required unless you live in town house or apartment.
