Labrador Retriever, Mountain Cur [Mix]

Hi, I'm Nate! I am a sweet white male labby mix! As you can see, once upon a time my name was number 748. You see, hunters spray paint us with our "names". Obviously I wasn't a very good hunter, since I ended up in a high-kill shelter and no one came to get me! The shelter people were very nice to me and gave me food on a regular basis and toys, which I have never had before. But now I am safe in the Washington, DC area, since Homeward Trails decided to rescue me!

I am young, probably about 1 year old and weigh around 45 pounds, fully grown.

I get along great with other dogs and just LOVE people. I love to get HUGS!! I also like to play with toys. My favorite thing is to tackle them and make them squeak!

I am currently in a foster home in Baltimore, MD. My foster dad is teaching me all kinds of new commands, like "sit" and "stay". He says I respond very well to corrections - and since I am so young, I certainly need those! I am still very young, so I can be a little mouthy when I am excited. I will grow out of that in time, but as much as I love little kids, I might be a little much for them.

I LOVE to go running and to the dog park. I really need a person that is willing to go running or take me to the dog park every day. I will do best in a home with another dog where someone is either home with me or can take me to daycare often. I'm young, so I have a lot of energy to burn. I think the dog park is great! I get to run around and play with other dogs. Afterwards, I am pretty pooped and love to lay down with a nice rawhide or squeaky toy.

I am a sweet boy that everyone who meets me just absolutely loves. But I would really like a family of my own. Might yours be the one?

P.S. My numbers are completely gone!! My sides are as white as snow - just like they are supposed to be!
