More About Black Jack

Hi, my name is Black Jack, but my foster mom just calls me Jack. You can imagine how I got the name Black Jack! I am a 7-8 year old 70 pound Greyhound/Great Dane mix with the body shape of a greyhound (only a little bigger) and the personality and playfulness of a youthful Great Dane. I love to talk and snuggle; mostly snuggle, but I will happily tell you what I’m thinking. My foster mom fell in love with me the minute she saw me sitting in the animal shelter with very pitiful eyes. You see, I was tied outside with a German Shepard most of my life until I was rescued and taken to the shelter. My brother was adopted from the shelter the day before I was, so I missed him very much. My foster mom came and picked me up and I’ve been an inside dog ever since. I love being inside and sleeping on my dog bed…actually I think it’s my mom’s bed, but she likes to share. I currently live with 3 other dogs and 2 cats, and I get along with everyone. I have never been aggressive with any food or treats, and I know when to back down from someone else’s treats when he/she tells me to. I don’t bother the cats at all. I will definitely have to have a fenced in yard if I am ever going to be able to run without my leash on…and I love to run! Although it took me a while to figure out that I had to go outside to potty, I’ve got that down now and very rarely have an accident. I was unaltered when I was rescued, but I have since been neutered and fully vetted and I’m as healthy as a horse! Jack is neutered, current on vaccines including boosters, rabies and lepto, heartworm tested negative (should be re-tested in 6 months for accuracy), microchipped, negative fecal test for internal parasites, current on flea and heartworm prevention. Jack’s adoption donation is $ 150.00 and an approved adoption application along with a home visit is required prior to adoption. Our application is available online at www.countrysideanimalrescue.org. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Julie Morse (my foster mom) at jmorse@acsc.net or at 765-623-3566. She will give you the details on how to begin the process.

Black Jack is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
