More About Chaplin
Hi Everyone!!!!
Chaprlin here--I was named after the movie star Charlie Chaplin--when I arrived from the shelter there was another little maltese just like me named Charlie--we were pals so foster mom decided I should be Chaplin. Sometimes she thinks she's clever.
I am the most super terrific boy ever. That's what foster mom tells me. I love everyone--dogs, cats, kids, even strangers. Guess I didn't pay attention to "stranger danger" in school. I was turned into the shelter as a stray and when I was placed on the euthanasia list--foster mom came and got me.
I do have one special need. I have a potty problem. The problem is, I don't know when I have to go--so it just happens. My doctor took pictures of my insides, and the cliff notes version is I have a luxated lumbar disc in my spine. It's been there a long time so it has fused--can't move it now! Wouldn't be a problem except it just so happens to be resting on the nerve which tells my brain I need to potty.
Foster mom says it's no big deal and someone will love me anyway. It's easy to manage--I wear a bellyband during the day, and I sleep on a towel at night. (I don't tinkle in my sleep, just poop on occasion) Foster mom has it down to a science--she take the bellyband off when I wake up from my naps and takes me outside--then I tinkle! About 2 hours after I eat we go outside again--then I poop! So, it can easily be managed. Oh, I LOVE to play, I can run FAST!!! So no problems with hind end paralysis
So, I know there aren't a whole lot of people who want to put up with this, but foster mom says that's okay--all I need is one loving person. I am worth any extra effort--I promise.
