Meet Penny
Baby Penny and 4 litter mates were transferred from another shelter 1/17/14, when they were only 11 weeks old. Penny's already a big girl, and she still has lots of growing to do! We've done our best to guess her breed mixture, so be sure you desire a large-to-extra large dog before you consider making Penny part of your family. She's a calm, quiet puppy, but she may become more animated and energetic as she grows up. She's irresistibly cute right now, but puppies shouldn't be adopted based on their "cuteness factor." Far too many puppies are returned to the shelter once people get them home and realize just how much time, effort and WORK is involved in raising them. For this reason, we encourage you to consider whether you're prepared for all that comes with raising a puppy to adulthood. Often times, it's best to skip the puppy stage by welcoming an adult dog into your home instead. We have many wonderful adult dogs who would love to be your new best friend. If you've pre-planned for your puppy and are ready for inevitable mishaps, some household soiling and destruction, hours of training, etc., your puppy-raising experience should be very rewarding, creating a lifelong bond between you and pretty Penny. A fenced yard is recommended.
