Meet Nita

Nita is an easy-going, loving and quick-learning White Lab/Retriever Mix. She is 7 years young and is working hard on reducing her weight from 75 lbs. to an ideal 60 lbs. Nita has adapted amazingly well to her mid-life blindness, which requires no medical care. She knows many verbal commands both on and off leash. She carefully walks through a home learning her way around. Blind dogs can have very happy, well-adjusted lives, as a dog's hearing and smelling senses are more dominant than vision. Fortunately, Nita hears and smells great. For those unfamiliar with blind dogs, an SDRO volunteer is available to help you & Nita navigate a life together.
