Teddy Boston Terrier Decatur, AL

Teddy is a very strikingly handsome Boston Terrier, around 4 or 5 years of age, weighing around 37 pounds. Rescued from an animal control facility he joined our ABTR family while suffering from a painful corneal ulcer, abrasions on his nether regions, and testing positive for heartworms. When he came into rescue,
confined to a crate for almost 6 months while his eye healed, undergoing heartworm treatment, and recovering from being neutered, he went only on short-leashed potty-walks.

Teddy's eye has successfully healed and he has completed his heartworm treatments. Teddy is neutered and up to date on all his shots. This laid-back guy is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. He enjoys car rides and
like most Bostons, Teddy is a people-oriented fella. Today he enjoys following humans around the yard a constant companion to his humans. He would just love to cuddle beside you while you watch TV. He is a very sensitive and cuddly to the humans he trusts.

Recently Teddy has been going to the park and meeting new people adults and teenagers. Teddy would make a great dog to take on long walks on a leash. We have discovered he LOVES wading kiddy pools. He has a favorite noisy outside toy that he plays with only when his humans are there to share.

ABTR is looking for a home with an experienced, strong leader to provide training for Teddy and to help him develop skills to reach his potential. He will need basic training commands taught to him. We know he would enjoy playtime in a safely fenced yard with tons of personal attention. Does not dig, jump, or climb. In addition, he is more of an alert barker. He prefers to be the only dog.
He is ready for his forever home.

All our rescues have been fully vetted, tested Heartworm negative, current on all shots and spayed or neutered, unless age or health prohibits. They are fostered in AL, GA, or MS. ABTR's adoption fee varies by dog and goes to cover some of the cost of vetting our rescues. 6 months and under - $450. 6-12 months - $400 One year to Two years - $350.
