Meet Swampy Ranger

My name is Swampy, but Foster Mom calls me Odie and Foster Dad calls me Bacon.  I'm a young Shihpoo from South Louisiana, more specifically a parking lot by a hotel in Baton Rouge,La.  I love when Foster Mom tells me the story of my rescue, except that I don't quite understand why she keeps saying that it took a rescue squad to catch me.  I knew where I was all along!  Back to my story, I had been living by a dumpster in a hotel parking lot staying out of the way of strangers and big moving machines.  You see, I had a really good system:  when bright light above quit shining, I would hang around some creatures of the feline persuasion.  They had all the connections to the food source - a lady would drive up, set out food for the cats and usually give me a little something like pizza.  Also, the people from the hotel threw me food.  Truth is though, I was scared of all these people and their big things and missed my humans that I knew long ago.  I don't know why I was separated from them in the first place.  Foster Mom says that I'm such an awesome pup that more than one family should have the opportunity to love me.   I hope I meet this family one day soon.

Any case, I was just doing my thing when I suddenly smelled my favorite treat - Bacon!  I had to crawl in a box to get it and then, BLAM!  I was locked up and couldn't run. Foster Mom tells me that I survived extreme weather conditions, traffic, people and monsters of all sorts, but succumbed to a bacon cheeseburger.  Well, Yeah!  There were a lot of humans that tried to help me before Foster Mom came, and I especially liked the lady with the chicken and dumplings, but I didn't understand then how good it could get.  That lady with the chicken and dumplings snapped a picture of me (not my most flattering profile), and sent it all the way home to Texas to another rescue lady who sent it to Foster Mom.  Foster Mom calls this "networking" and says it saves lives like mine.  And this turn of events have been pretty darn good.  Foster Dad even gave me some bacon.  Some situations still frighten me and it helps when Foster Mom reminds me that it's all good and the humans will take care of me now.  She says that I will never have to be alone again and that some pretty good folks will make sure of that.  I like these folks . . . and bacon.  Foster Mom tells me often that I have excellent house manners and I like the boy and girl that live here too.  Learning how to play and share my things with the other pups of the house didn't come as easily, but now, I enjoy their company.  I'm living the good life now, safe and secure, but would like a place of my own.  If you think that I am the lucky dog for you please fill out an application at the link below.
