Meet Minx & Othello

* { font:inherit; }

Minx was originally brought to the shelter with her sister, Leslie, which she was bonded to. When she passed away in February 2008, Minx was left to fend for herself. She was very sad. We were all very concerned about her, so she went into foster care. While in foster care she met a dashing young bunny named Othello and they have fallen madly in love. Othello is a beautiful all black buck who loves Minx with all of his heart. They are now bonded and quite happy together. They must be adopted that way.

Minx is very sweet and quite social. She loves to receive pets, cheek rubs and will allow you to hold her for a short time before she runs off to do binkies. She loves her treats too.

Othello came to us from Huron Valley Humane Society because his owner's turned him and said he had bit them. Huron Valley had no choice but to call us because they could not adopt him out due to the biting, but they didn't want to put him to sleep and they knew that Midwest would provide a warm, loving environment for him. Since he has been in the foster home with his foster family, there has been no evidence of aggression whatsoever. His foster mom tells us that he is a perfect gentleman with all of the other animals in the house. He happens to have a very close relationship with the house cat!! Othello would make a wonderful addition to any family. He is not afraid of dogs or cats and seems to love the attention given to him no matter which species it comes from! If you're looking for a special bunny with lots of personality, Othello is your man! He has a beautiful, glossy, soft inky black coat. He loves to run around and do binkies and he loves his veggies! Parsley seems to be the favorite right now! Othello is not opposed to a little snuggle time and he has shown great affection by kissing the kids in the foster family!!

More then twice as good for them,
Less then twice the work for you!

Anyone who has two rabbits that live with each other needs no convincing that bunnies derive tremendous companionship, comfort and fun from each other. There are few things you can do that will have a more beneficial impact on your rabbit’s life than giving him or her a companion. And it’s not very much additional work for you. You’ve already prepared your home, and you’re already feeding and cleaning for one rabbit. Feeding and cleaning for a second doesn’t take much extra time - they’ll share food and litter boxes. Rabbits are very social by nature. They really like having a companion. They play together, snuggle together and rest together. Many rabbits are kept somewhat confined for part of the day. In addition, most people are away from their home for a good part of the day, and are busy with their lives and families while they are at home. You can give your bunny a friend to be with so that even when you’re away they will comfort each other. Their lives will be much fuller with a companion.
