Meet Boomer

BOOMER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

HERE'S WHAT HIS ADOPTER HAS TO SAY:

I adopted Boomer a little over 2 years ago...from a wonderful lady named Leslie, who was fostering him. Thought you would like to see a pic of him with one of his brothers, Bailey...Boomer is a snuggler, and also thinks he is a lap dog. He is very protective of me, and waits on the couch with paws on the back, looking out of the window to wait for me to come home. I must admit, i pick him up and lay with him on the couch, spooning him. He endures whatever kind of loving and attention he gets, because he loves it so much. Toys are of great fun, no always to play with them, but to carry them around the house in his mouth. He has a nice fenced in back yard (that he can get to whenever he wants, thanks to the new doggie door!) , 2 doggie brothers and a mom and dad who love him to pieces! Thanks for letting me share!

Adopted!Boomer - Beagle/Clumber Spaniel mix - 3 years of age - male/neutered -35 pounds - white and cream short, plush coat with butterscotch ears

There is a point in life when the solid, everyday, predictable qualities of a really nice guy become very attractive. That describes Boomer. His open, uncomplicated sincerity; his happy, easy outlook, his simple pleasures and honest needs are like a balm in a world of complex subtleties and differences.

Boomer is short, with a long sturdy body and an exceedingly plush, creamy coat. He has long, soft ears and clear brown eyes that look directly into one's own. He is eager to please, patient and sweet.

In fact, Boomer is so darned nice that he gives you the same feeling of protectiveness that you have when you watch an especially earnest child
head off for that first day of school. Will he make friends? Will anyone laugh at him? Will he lose his lunch money?

Boomer earned his name because of the length of time it took him to understand that glass is transparent, but none the less, a very solid
barrier. But no one needed to teach Boomer the basic skills of getting along with other dogs, or running fast on his stocky legs, or the virtue in being the the happiest, best Boomer he could be. Boomer has
no delusions of grandeur, no ambitions to be first, no desire to be the leader of the pack.

Boomer would be an ideal companion in a household with an existing dog, especially one who is plagued with the agendas listed above. Boomer's
only goal is to be accepted by his pack - both human and canine. And because he is fun and playful and very loving, he is always successful.

He is the perfect "second" dog, and in fact, it is in this context that Boomer shines most brightly. This is not to say that Boomer is indifferent to the companionship of his humans; indeed, he is faithful and responsive, and very strong in the basic commands "sit", "lay down" and "come." His house manners are excellent, and in a quiet, undemanding way he revels in petting and attention.

But Boomer loves being a dog, and to him that means a yard to romp in with another four-legged friend, and a human to welcome them both after
they have had a spirited game of chase. Once inside, he will be obedient, devoted and completely appropriate. He will be grateful for his meals and dog bed. But at night, he will dream of running and
jumping with his canine best friend, much like the child who sits quietly at his desk counting the minutes until recess.

Best of all, Boomer will always greet each day, his humans, and his canine friends with the same joy and good will that are his stock in trade, and the beauty of a spirit that is accepting of everyone, just
as they are.
