Buddy Labrador Retriever Saint Petersburg, FL

Buddy is a 2yr old lab that arrived to FARR last year very emaciated. He is a sweet boy who did well in his foster home, but was adopted out to a family and did not do well there. The adopters left him out in the yard a lot due to all the children in the home. Buddy has become somewhat dog-aggressive when on leash in certain circumstances. Our FARR BOD member tested him and he did fine for her on leash with an older female dog, and eventually played, but the greeting was initially very stiff and cautious. We think Buddy may have been attacked by another at a younger age and perhaps being fenced in with other dogs going by and barking became an issue. For whatever the reason, Buddy needs a new home. He is currently kenneled because we don't have foster homes without other dogs. So we are looking for a home without other dogs and someone who has a yard to play in. Not leave him in, but a place for him to get exercise, since walks are difficult with other dogs in the neighborhood, unless you have a behavioral trainer.

Buddy's perfect home would be with an adult household with a fenced in yard and someone who wants a ball buddy and snuggle bug.

Buddy is neutered and utd on everything. He is not destructive and he is housebroken. Buddy is currently sitting in the kennel in Pinellas Park.
