Meet Kimber Shep

Kimber is a courtesy post! She is not with our rescue.

Kimber is a 8 year old Lab/Shepard mix (black with white chest). I got her when she was believed to be around 1 years old.

Her temperament with adults and children is very good. She has never growled, bitten, or even raised her hair, in defense to anyone since we have had her. She is house trained (will sit in front of you to let you know she has to go outside to go the bathroom) and knows the commands of: sit, lay down, paw, other paw (if you switch hands to her) and speak. If you become her new primary person she will listen to come and stay very well. She can not be housed with other small dogs or cats.

She loves the outside (leashed or on a run rope), but I have never had her be a 24/7 outside dog and so when my children and I would be outside so would she and than she would come back inside.

She does not do well in a kennel by herself. She will attempt to escape. Also, she sleeps in the bedroom with me on a blanket on the floor at night. She was in a kennel for a while, but I noticed it was bothering her hips each morning.

When I would need to run errands she would be in the living room with a gate up to the kitchen and other doors shut. She has never had an accident in the house and can go to about 4 hours before she would need to go out at the most.

She's not a big fan of water, but if you gain her trust she will let you bathe her outside with the water hose.

She does jump up a bit out of excitement with adults only.

Kimber is up to date on all her shots and will have on hand Bravecto and Interceptor. Her Veterinary location is East Lincoln Animal Hospital on Hwy 73 in Denver.

My reasonings for having to find my dog a new home are due to a divorce and housing limitations.

I love my dog so much. Having to make this decision is not and will not be easy for me. I am hoping to find her a home where someone can have the time to love her as much as I do, have a fenced in area so she can run, and give her the life she deserves.
