Meet Toast

What’s the best part of breakfast? TOAST of course! This easygoing, sweet girl is looking for all the basics in life: a soft pillow to nap on, a big window to look out of, and, most importantly, a family to love her forever.

Like many fosters, Toast did not have the happiest backstory. She is originally from southern Ohio and was tossed from a car onto a country road and eventually landed in a shelter. However, through an amazing network of rescuers, she made her way to Columbus. After some time to decompress (and a very thorough bath), she has begun to flourish.

Some observations from her foster dad:

- Toast goes with the flow. If you’re watching Netflix, she’s right there next to you. If you want to go for a walk, she is DEFINITELY there.

- She does very well on a leash, and while she is curious, she never tries to run away or tug excessively

- She likes other dogs (and loves her foster dog brother), but she will get startled with larger/louder dogs

- She seems to like all people and usually stops to say hi during walks

- She has been around small children for short periods of time. She was timid/shy, but definitely not aggressive

- She is curious about house cats, but has not tried to attack/chase mine

- She is very curious about small outdoor animals (birds, squirrels, etc) and may chase if given the opportunity

- She does well in a crate (she will whine for a while after you put her in, but will calm down) and has never made a mess in it while I’ve been at work

- Despite this, she still does need a little work with housetraining (she may have lived outside previously) and would probably benefit from more frequent trips outside until she is in a solid routine

- She tolerates baths well

- She has not displayed any destructive tendencies (I have also not left her unattended for extended periods of time, but I don’t think she would)

- She knows how to beg for table scraps/keep you company in the kitchen

- She took her flea prevention easily with a little bit of bacon :)

If you want the happiest greeting of your life every morning and every time you walk in through the door, as well as a lifelong friend, Toast is your girl!

Adoption fee is $230. She is spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.
