Gillian is a wonderful, sweet and friendly 16-17 lb. pup rescued from the Devore Shelter. The shelter marked him as age two, but I would say he is closer to one-and-a-half. Gillian is a warm dog who is very loving and likes to be near you. A DNA test revealed that Gillian is Border Collie/English Shepherd/American Eskimo mix. American Eskimo probably accounts for his smaller size, which can also be a toy version.

Gillian is super adorable being all white with distinct black patches on his body and a bandit mask on his face. He has beautiful green eyes too! Know that these dogs with bandit masks can be harder to photograph, and therefore can look more harsh; I truly feel that Gillian is cuter in person and that photos have failed to show how truly adorable he is which also emanates from his charming, and sometimes shy personality. And his ears are adorable!

Gillian loves all people and also all other dogs and maintains a fairly respectful and kind attitude towards all. He is a very special dog in that regard and there is something very endearing about Gillian. He does love to play with other playful dogs, enthusiastically, and he also loves to chew on a hard chew toy and rawhides, but he can also totally chill with another dog, on a pet bed, or chill by my side. When I have to lie down during the day, he jumps up with me on the bed and just cuddles. Gillian is crate-trained and potty-trained (however potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and he is NOT a big leg lifter outside, still being more content to squat on the lawn. He is a GREAT SIZE, not a big dog, but also not little either.

As a rescuer, it is my aim to champion the cause, but also, most dogs are simply happier and more content when they have a canine companion. However, whenever I see a dependence or need, I definitely aim to accommodate that. Therefore, the home we seek for Gillian has another welcoming and friendly, at least somewhat playful pup in the home. I realize there are many wonderful dog homes out there, but I want Gillian to be at least one of two dogs at this time, and one that is at least playful or semi-playful would be a hug plus. A home with some semblance of a yard is a huge plus and with people who are not collectively gone from home for long, extended hours on a regular or daily basis (no, this does not mean you have to be retired!). An appropriately-sized wire crate for structure and containment will help Gillian, when needed, during a transitional phase. Gillian is a very special dog who is inherently sweet, good-natured and completely unaggressive, and anyone who adopts him will acquire a true sweetheart and gem.

NOTE: We only adopt dogs as primarily INDOOR dogs. Dogs can go outside to play, potty, to sun themselves at will, but should never be excluded to an outside area. You do not need to give a dog the run of the entire house, and an appropriate sized wire crate works very well during a transitional phase.

Gillian is neutered, fully vaccinated, Front-lined, dewormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Gillian, email Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. In the email, please provide some information about your home, family, other pets, and your dog experience. Please also check your spam folder for an email reply from the rescue. If you wish, please also provide a phone number. Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue is a private, home-based rescue. We do have a process that involves some dialoging and an application (applications are not online); please be prepared to do this, and you can read about this process on my website: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com (go to the Adoption Tab).
We seek stable homes that can provide a life-long, loving environment for the dogs in our care. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue unless you do not receive a response from your email within 24 hours (evening to night emails may get a response the following morning).
