Chester Domestic Short Hair Mix Clayville, RI

Chester arrived at the shelter on November 12, saw the vet a few days later, and is now ready to be adopted to a loving home. All signs indicate that he had a home at one point, and he’s probably feeling very lucky that someone cared enough to get him “off the streets” into the safety of the shelter. He’s a very nice, friendly cat who enjoys getting attention from the volunteers and he likes to be held for a little while, but after a little cuddling he prefers to spend his cage-free time exploring the cat room and meeting the other cats. He enjoys playing with toys and comes when beckoned, even though we just started calling him Chester! He just seems to understand when we’d like him to come to use for some petting. Chester will make a nice companion to children of all ages, and he should be fine living with other cats. We’re not yet sure what he thinks of dogs, but he seems like the kind of cat who will be fine living with a dog that has lived with cats and is not aggressive towards them.

Chester is estimated to be 4 years old, is neutered, box-trained, current on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and received de-wormers and flea treatments. Adoption fee is $50. Fee may be paid by credit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only, and no cash is accepted.
