Meet Annabelle

Annabelle got into a heap of trouble in North Carolina when a setter Samaritan called us. She’d been lost and on the run for quite some time and ended up in a small neighborhood looking for food. She’s much healthier, gaining weight and loves to run!

Annabelle is very calm in the house and is gaining confidence daily with her foster. Annabelle isn’t bothered by household noises like the vacuum or hair dryer. She sleeps in her crate(kennel up) eats by her foster sibling in the kitchen and is very playful. Sometimes her foster sibling isn’t in the mood:) she is good with children 8+ and we always recommend supervision.

Annabelle has blossomed under foster’s care and loves to play with toys and takes treats gently. She has a very pleasant disposition. She’s learning “hurry up” when her foster leaves for work in the morning along with other common commands.

Annabelle is an energetic young setter about 2 years old and has a prey drive to match, perhaps because she was starving when found. She requires a securely fenced yard. Her foster believes she has been trained on an e-collar but her reaction to the tone was visceral when tested-leading her to believe she was abused with it. Annabelle shut done for a bit and recovered to her happy self.

Her foster believes she would NOT be a candidate for an electric fence. It appears her tail may have been broken but the vet said it’s healed and no one notices!

Annabelle was coming into heat when she arrived at foster. The vet recommended waiting for spay and we know she was safe.

Fenced yard only. No cats. No chickens.
