Shay & Ruby Australian Shepherd Mix Somers, CT

Shay and Ruby found themselves at a high kill shelter in SC after their owners decided they did not want to care for seniors dogs any more. These girls were most likely kept outdoors on a chain or in a kennel. They were dirty and their fur was matted and are not house trained but we are working on that with them. Lets see if we can teach an old dog a new trick!
Ruby and Shay are both so so sweet and love attention. They have been loose in the house for several hours alone and have been behaved and not destroyed anything they weren't allowed to. They have been dog tested with a male bulldog and they show no aggression. The girls also share an area with a cat Garfield (kenneled) and the only interest they seem to have in him is in food bowl.
We are looking for an adopter that would be willing to open up their home to these two girls until their time, whenever it may be, to cross over that rainbow bridge. They are filled with spunk and personality, they love to bounce around and to hear they are 14 years old takes us by surprise with their playful personalities. They would make wonderful companion dogs to any household.
