Meet Phoebe. She is a 6 year old Shepherd and Carolina dog mix. She was surrendered to South LA shelter in June due to medical reasons and the family losing their home. She has mammary tumors that ruptured and the shelter placed her on medical alert and was given only days to be rescued or adopted, otherwise she was going to have to be euthanized. No one came forward for her but in the nick of time, DDR let the shelter know that we wanted to meet her so they gave a brief reprieve and we rushed to the shelter the next day and made the decision to rescue her!
Phoebe received surgery to remove half of the tumors. Sadly she won't be having a second surgery as the cancer has spread too much. She also has a pinched nerve making it difficult to walk unless medicated well. Phoebe is currently living at the DDR kennel. If you have a place for Phoebe to rest and enjoy the time she has left, please come meet her.
