Meet Jack

If you would like to visit one our amazing pups, please review the policies below, complete an online application www.adoptmountainpets.org and give us call if you have any questions prior to coming by. 970 626 2273

Jack is a 3 year old Border Collie mix. He came to us from Aztec, New Mexico. This poor pup was found with a collar badly embedded into his neck. After a vet visit and some TLC from his foster he healed up and was transferred to us to be adopted. Jack is very shy around people as a result of whatever has happened to him. However, when he goes for a walk his face lights up and we see the real Jack shine through! Jack enjoys playing outside with his friend Lizzie and is slowly learning to trust people. If you would be interested in taking the time to win over this sweet boy, please give us a call or swing by to meet him!

We often adopt same day as the first visit an interview but it is not guaranteed. Some dogs will take multiple visits and adopters are approved based on the best fit for the particular animal being considered. We do not hold pets during the process.

Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills. Please be prepared to provide that training and dedication that will be needed.

We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.

It is important everyone in the home is introduced to the new pet.

We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.

All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.

Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
