Meet Gilley

Gilley has a story - a really sad one that has turned uplifting thanks to the many hands and eyes and hearts down in GA. Gilley was surrendered to a kill shelter by her family when they fell on very unfortunate and unexpected circumstances. She was walked into the shelter by her mom and human brother. They didn't realize it was a place where Gilley could possibly be euthanized. Fortunately, a volunteer saw this situation happening and reached out to us to save Gilley from becoming a number in the system. A foster then stepped up and Gilley had to spend a few mere hours in the shelter. She's one of the lucky ones and things happened at the right time for her. Gilley has been through some traumatic events but is the sweetest, gentlest, loving dog. She is about 7 - 9 years old and loves all dogs and people. Gilley is obedient, well-behaved and just an overall joy and even though she was very confused at first, she has settled in and is loving life with her foster family. This girl also can't catch a break. Soon after ASCZ took Gilley in, we discovered she has pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is very manageable with a prescription diet; many dogs live long and very happy lives but Gilley does need some extra care in the food department and of course, extra attention if she does have a flare up. She is doing wonderfully now! We would love to see this girl finally be comfortable and happy in a forever home that just can shower her with love.
