Rosie, the beauty, is looking for a forever home that can meet her needs as an older pup. She is very independent, even with her issues as she ages. She needs an adopter who will be patient and loving, and give her time to get to know her surroundings.

Rosie tends to be shy at first, but will warm up with time. She shows some playfulness when she’s grown used to you. Rosie can be interested in what you’re up to and will follow you around, but can also be nonchalant. She is happy being the sole furry occupant in the house, but can also be integrated into a family with other animals. She makes her wishes known when it’s time for food or to go outside, but other than that is pretty chill.

Rosie is aging, so she seems to have stiff joints. She can climb stairs, but coming back down is a no-go. She will need ramps and assistance and is taking an Omega daily to help those poor joints. She has lost some hearing and sight, but that doesn’t stop her. She will respond to clapping, snapping fingers, or a deeper male voice – but can startle easily with loud noises. She also has no top teeth, so soft food is a must. Rosie also isn’t fond of grooming, so will need some help learning to desensitize to that (she will get nippy, but is not a biter).

Rosie loves the car, but only if able to sit on her own – she objects strenuously to crating. She also loves a walk, but definitely at her own pace, she’s slowing down with her years. Rosie would love a family who will let her go easy, and allow her to rest and relax for her time. She needs people who understand her and love her to pieces.

Rosie is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
