Are you looking for a dog who is all puppy? Evee is a very young, sweet, big girl who was not taught much during the first few months of her life. After that she was crated to eliminate the need for training. Once introduced, she likes most people and shows it with kisses. She loves attention and belly rubs. She also likes her back scratched, ears rubbed, talked to and cuddled.
Evee is young and has lots of energy. Like any puppy she gets bored easily. Please remember boredom can cause a dog to be destructive. She adores being outside and running around in a secure fenced yard. She plays fetch and tug of war with her person. She likes playing with one of the other larger dogs at her foster home. They run around chasing each other, wrestling and barking. It is however recommended that she not be left to play with smaller dogs. She wouldn’t deliberately hurt the smaller dog but with her size and puppy exuberance an accident can happen in the blink of an eye.
Evee is very smart. It only takes her a very short time to learn new things. She is house trained. Any of Evee’s other behaviours are that of a large untrained puppy. Evee is still learning to walk on leash without her puppy excitement. She still likes to chew on things. She is learning the difference between chew toys and furniture. For some reason she does not like towels hanging on a rod. She will pull them down every chance she gets. She doesn’t chew them just leaves them on the floor. She still needs a lot of supervision in the house. In her foster home she is doing well. Yes she still needs correcting but is learning daily. She knows she shouldn’t jump up and does well most of the time. There are times when excitement takes over and she needs correcting. She unfortunately likes to bark. Some of her barking is excitement and some of it is from being scared. Evee is afraid of birds in a bush, and strong winds blowing the trees. She is trying hard to overcome her fears and is doing pretty well at it. She is a big girl and her wagging tail can dust the end tables in any home. She really would like to sleep with her person, but her size sometimes makes that impossible so she would settle for a comfy old couch or nice mat. No dog bed as she tends to chew the stuffing out of them. Her foster absolutely loves her and says she is one of the sweetest girls she has fostered. Her foster has been working with some success on getting Evee’s training to the level it should be at for her age.
Evee is looking for a home where her back yard is safe, secure and fairly large for her to run in. She would also like another larger active dog to play with. Above all she would like a family who will not just throw her into a crate but will teach her all the things she needs to learn to be the very best dog she can be.
Further details on her behaviour can be discuss in detail with her foster. Evee deserves a chance at a happy life with a family of her own.
