Meet Blu
Blu is a shy, sweet, loving heeler.
However, she is very shy. After getting to know a person and often with the help of another dog, she will want to snuggle and accept some love from people but it takes time.
Blu will do best in a calm, quiet home without small children. She will need a family that can provide her with the guidance she needs to grow into a confident girl. Blu requires a very secure fenced yard.
She gets along nicely with other dogs and a companion dog would be helpful.
Blu is learning very slowly to walk on a leash and makes a little progress everyday.
She has never lived in a home, and she will need a introduction to housetraining.
We believe Blu is about 6 years old. She weighs about 30 lbs. We will require her adopters to transport her home in a travel crate.
We often adopt same day as the first visit an interview but it is not guaranteed. Blu's adoption will likely take multiple visits. Adopters are approved based on the best fit for the particular animal being considered. We do not hold pets during the process.
It is important everyone in the home is introduced to the new pet.
We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.
Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
