Cooper Pomeranian Chatham, ON

Requirements for Cooper: secure, fenced yard, double door in front to avoid escape, active adult only home, door leading directly to the backyard

Cooper is a very funny, little, super cute 3 year old Pomeranian guy who is very high energy! He spins with excitement to go outside for a run or to get treats. He LOVES being outside, he would not be suited for apartment living. He enjoys going for walks in quiet situations.

Because of his background of not being exposed to many new situations, Cooper can get overwhelmed and feel very anxious easily. He needs SLOW introduction to new situations which could be a very long process and take weeks and months. For the right adopter, it would be a wonderful reward to watch him learn to enjoy new experiences and not fear them. He knows a vehicle represents going for a ride. Cooper is a good little passenger, is quiet and enjoys the sights.

He came from a situation where he was with an elderly owner who could no longer care for him and he found himself in a kill shelter. He was not taken care of with his grooming so he was suffering from severe matting on his bum and back area which caused him to be in pain resulting in him being labelled as a biter. After his visit to the vet where he was sedated to remove this horrible matting, he turned into the happiest little guy with plenty of kisses to share. He loves his life again! Please note that Cooper is fearful of groomers so someone with experience with the grooming needs of a Pomeranian will be preferred.

While Cooper gets along fine with other dogs and cats, he also loves his own company and would like to be the love of an adopter's life!

Cooper loves toys, he can spend time rolling and playing with a pile of toys. Squeaky ones seem to be his favourite! He also loves blankets and has fun burying himself in a blanket.

He is a very fast, high energy little guy who is also a door dasher and high risk for escaping if given the chance. Priority will be given to adopters who are extremely safety conscious. We will also require two meet and greets with a potential adopter before a final decision is made.
