Meet Myra

If you would like to visit one our amazing pups, please review the policies below, complete an online application www.adoptmountainpets.org and give us call if you have any questions prior to coming by. 970 626 2273

This stunning girl has been through a tough tough time. She was surrendered to the shelter having been diagnosed with a chronic illness we were not told about. Consequently, she became very sick and we almost lost her. Thanks to her amazing supporters we were able to provide the medical care needed. She has gone through six months of treatment and rehabilitation, remaining sweet and loving the entire time.

Myra is now stabilized and ready to finally find the family she deserves. While she will always need to be on daily medications to keep her illnesses under control, she has continued to be a normal, happy-go-lucky dog who just wants to live a normal dog's life. Myra loves to play fetch, play with other dogs and take leisurely walks. She will make a great hiking partner, and is eager to learn new things. Myra is affectionate to the people she loves, and she enjoys meeting new people (and licking their faces!)

Please call us to find out more about Myra and her special needs. 970 626 2273

We often adopt same day as the first visit an interview but it is not guaranteed. Some dogs will take multiple visits and adopters are approved based on the best fit for the particular animal being considered. We do not hold pets during the process.

Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills. Please be prepared to provide that training and dedication that will be needed.

We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.

It is important everyone in the home is introduced to the new pet.

We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.

All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.

Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
