Meet Chucky

We only accept applications from Chatham Kent area only

Requirements: secure, fenced yard, no children under 10, no apartment, he wants to be the only dog, will require more than one visit

Chucky is a handsome bichon mix (DOB approx 2011) who was pulled from a kill shelter in Quebec. His life hasn't always been easy. He is a smart, sweet little guy who needs a adult only family who will give him the time he needs to trust and once he does, he will be your loyal friend. He is shy and uncertain when he first meets someone.

He has excellent manners, is curious but respectful of his home, sleeps through the night, barks to alert you of strangers or at the squirrels, knows sit and come commands and travels well in car.

Chucky is perfect on walks; he actually anticipates a change of direction by the slightest movement of the leash. He will play tug-of-war with his toys and loves meeting new people on a walk, especially if they have a scent of another animal on them.

He does not interact with other dogs very much and although he is curious about cats and tends to bark at them and run after them, he does not seem to want to hurt them.

We do not know how he is with children. He does have a very loud bark, so no apartments for this guy. He is independent, sensitive and enjoys his alone time. He will come to you when he’s ready. He loves a good back rub and will strike up a conversation with you to let you know how much he enjoys it.

The best home for Chucky would be on his own with someone who happily indulges his love of walks and who will fuss over him while giving him his space at his pace.

Because Chucky is very close to his foster family, we will be doing several visits with a potential adopter.

If you are interested in Chucky, just submit his application at www.ckanimalrescue.com

Chucky is neutered, microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption fee: $350
