Meet Sandy

Sandy's Story: It's been a long journey!

In February, Sandy was abandoned in the woods of Virginia. She came to the rescue ever so frightened and starving.

After spending several weeks receiving love and recovering in her foster homes, Sandy continued to be anxious and afraid.

Although an absolutely adorable dog, Sandy's young age and being left to fend for herself perhaps affected her confidence to be happy.

In May, a most amazing donor angel provided transport and training for Sandy at Rockin' Robin Kennels. Through support for training and temperament assessment, Sandy got a brand new start on her journey to find her forever home!

"Without a doubt, Sandy is one sweet and amazing dog." Sandy has flourished with her trainer. She has been around small grandchildren, cats, and is great in the house. She is not dominant and loves to play and be snuggled. Sandy is somewhat afraid of thunderstorms and does not like gunshot or fireworks. No hunting for this girl! She is settled, calm and has completed her obedience training.

Sandy has all the skills and then some! She can sit, heal, walks extremely well on a lead, takes cab rides around the kennel property and has proper manners even a city person would love. Sandy does like to be in the field but only for watching, running and finding all kinds of surprises. Sandy has GREAT recall and her forever humans will be asked to continue her outstanding progress.

Who could ask for anything more?!

Sandy is a gem who has been professionally trained and seeking the perfect forever match.

Adequate exercise is a must for Sandy. Long walks and activity in the yard would be perfect. Sandy is crate trained but does well in the house.

She should not be crated for extended periods of time, if at all.

Sandy will remain with her trainer until adopted with gracious support from her angel.
