Meet Cheryl
Cheryl is a dilute tortoiseshell born in November 2018. Cheryl initially tested positive for FIV, but she should be retested at six months of age to confirm this result.
According to the website of the Best Friends Animal Society, "Kittens under six months of age may test falsely positive (for FIV) after having received antibodies from their mothers, either in utero or via milk. It can take up to six months for these antibodies to go away. Thus, it is a good idea to retest a kitten testing positive after reaching six months of age."
