Miller is a sweet little guy who comes across as shy at first. He likes other dogs and doesn't like to be left alone so he will do best in a home with another little dog to help him grow his confidence.
Miller was rescued from a puppy mill and continues to be timid but Second Chance staff have seen a lot of improvements. If interested in adopting Miller please be sure to read up on puppy mill survivors so you have some awareness of what he may need to help him fit comfortably into your home.
His previous foster told us that he responds well to the commands of "wait", "touch" and "pick up" where you can pick him up and settle him comfortably on your lap. He will need to be re-house-trained.
Miller is eating grain free food as he has a delicate tummy.
He can be a climber and will require a fence that is 5-6 feet and not chain link fence as he'll see it as his climbing wall.
Come meet this special guy soon!

We cannot confirm that dogs who come from the shelter will be house trained.
Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills.
Please be prepared to provide the training and dedication that will be needed.
We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.
*** This is why it is important that we introduce everyone in the home to the new pet. Please plan to have the whole family come visit.
*** We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.
*** All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.
*** Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
