Meet Nathan

Whoa. Seriously. Take a look at this guy.

This is Nathan. These are Nathan’s spectacular ears. These are Nathan’s soulful eyes. This is Nathan’s surprisingly soft skin.

Our best guess on this guy: 4-year-old Bloodhound mix weighing 90 pounds. Housebroken, crate-trained, submissive, sweet.

Yeah, he’s all that.

Nathan currently lives with two playful canine fosters and that's a very good thing because Nathan loves to play: chase, fetch, tug-o-war. Nathan's a very social, athletic guy so a playful canine companion would be great. Another item on Nathan's wish list: someone willing to work with him so he can develop into the best companion ever. Nathan is a treat-motivated, fast learner who will benefit from consistency, abundant activity and copious amounts of praise, ear scratches and belly rubs. Oh, and a fenced yard would simply be the frosting on the cake.

Because he’s a Bloodhound (mix? maybe…who knows?), his walks are less about distance and more about smells. And his bark? He uses it mainly to try to initiate play and, oh yeah, it’s more like a howl.

Nathan. He’s the real deal. If you’re interested, send in an application now and come meet him on Saturday. He does not disappoint.

Please check our events page at http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org to find where this dog may be shown this weekend. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)

The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near Chicagoland... we are sorry but we cannot accept any out of state applications. We look forward to speaking with you!
