Amy is the epitome of innocence! This sweet girl was used to breed puppies for a puppy mill. We welcomed Amy and two of her breeding sisters into our rescue with the goal of finding loving homes for all three. Two have been adopted and Amy is now waiting for her forever home with someone who understands the importance of patience of time. Former breeder dogs do not understand what it is like to live outside of a cage or small safe area.

Amy is a smart girl and is eager to learn! Being a breeder dog, she needs a family who will take as much time as needed to help her learn how to walk on a leash if it takes days or weeks. This girl is a toy hoarder...you can see she how happy she is to have something to call her own and keep it close. Although she does not mingle or interact much with the other dogs in her foster home, she carefully watches what the other dogs do. She is constantly learning and needs a buddy to show her the ropes on how to just be a happy dog!

She sits patiently waiting for her food and if she finishes before the other dogs, she boldly tries to push the others aside to gobble up a few leftovers. She also loves treats.

Amy is very quiet, rarely barks and is happy as a lark! She loves her freedom, enjoys the outdoors and being able to run and play in the yard for a small period of time and then goes back to the safety of the door to go inside. She is like most former breeders...if a hand goes over her head, she expects the worst. Amy NEEDS a quiet home with someone who is a homebody and has plenty of patience and not in a hurry for her be like other “normal dogs” who have lived in homes. Amy will need time to continue learning how to live cage free. She is most comfortable in a small area she can call her own. She is very uncomfortable at this time to have full access to an entire home, she is overwhelmed.

Amy is spayed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccinations as well as flea and tick prevention.
