Meet Budd

Are you looking for your new best bud? Stop right now, you've found him! He’s a Corgi mix with maybe some Heeler thrown in for the fun of it! Budd (two D's for "delightful dog") will be happy to be a couch potato right next you or will run and play in a fenced-in backyard if you would rather. Whatever you decide, he is happy to just go with the flow.

Budd currently resides with his foster mom and dad, their resident pup Radar (a Chihuahua), and another foster, Miss Olivia (2-year-old Border Collie/Aussie mix), who is becoming Budd's favorite playmate.

When Budd isn't playing, he can be found squished into a too-small doggie bed (there is a perfectly good larger bed available, but it comes in a distant second to the tiny bed) grabbing a quick nap. His favorite toys are the ones that squeak and the ones that belong to Radar.

When it comes to mealtime, Budd loves his chow and is pretty matter of fact if someone checks his bowl while he is eating. Since he is only about 9 months old, he is learning quite a few things, like waiting for treats, sitting, and staying. Budd likes his treats, so he should be relatively easy to train.

Speaking of training, Budd is coming along exceedingly well in the housebreaking area. He has learned the schedule and follows the other pups to the backdoor when it is time to go out. He waits patiently for his harness and doesn't pull on his leash when walking. Budd does, however, shy away when a garbage truck comes rumbling down the road. He also does well on car rides.

Budd is not a big talker, but he does whine a bit when left alone. He will stop and sleep through the night, he just wants to be as close to his peeps as possible.

Are you looking for a bud to toss a ball around with or to hang out on the couch while watching the game? If so, fill out that application now. Your Budd will be waiting!

Please check our events page at http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org to find where this dog may be shown this weekend. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)

The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near Chicagoland... we are sorry but we cannot accept any out of state applications. We look forward to speaking with you!
