Meet Periwinkle
Periwinkle is a young female Blue Pit Bull Terrier. Her specialty is giving kisses and snuggling. She is house-trained and crate trained, but like any young pup, random items laying about are all considered chew toys.
Peri was found as a stray and it appeared she had been hit by a car and suffered a severe hip injury requiring surgery. She is recovering from her surgery, and doing great, however she should probably avoid stairs for a while longer. She is dog social, but introductions need to be slow as she has had the luxury of recovery in a "only dog" household. She has only had limited exposure to cats and we don't recommend her going to a home with cats base on how much she wants to play with them. Also very small children are not recommended only because she will over power them.
Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.
Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).
We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application.
Thanks for thinking adoption!
