Meet Dexter
REQUIREMENTS: Secure fenced yard, only older, respectful children 8+, another young playful dog in the home no older than 5 - 6 years old

Dexter is a great dog with lots of love to give. He loves to cuddle in bed and sleep with you.
He is a typical puppy who has lots of energy, loves to play, be cuddled and held. He has been loving and friendly with everyone he has met. He would do better with respectful children 8+ years who understand his needs.
He gets along well with large and small dogs. He also does well with cats and respects their boundaries but he does like to chase them around the house.
Being a puppy, he is a chewer and needs supervision and toys and treats available to help him. During play he can get rough and nip in attempts to be playful. Dexter also needs to go outside very consistently to avoid accidents in the house. This little guy is food motivated so he responds well to treats during his training.
Favourite activities: Rope toys, playing tug of war, cuddling, walks, digging, running leash free, sniffing out treats, being held and eating.
He generally walks well on leash as long as he has time to sniff along the way.
Dexter is most comfortable having someone hold him in the car. If no one is available, a tether can be used for safety. A walk beforehand also helps to wear off some of his puppy energy.
The ideal home for Dexter is a person, couple or family who is very patient, active and loving....someone who is willing to continue his training both at home and through obedience classes if required. They must understand that he is young, still learning, so is a work in progress. He needs a home where someone is often home.....a home already having a young, playful dog. It is stressful for him to be left alone at this point and he bonds very quickly to other animals.
