Meet Claude
Hi there folks! I am Claude, and I am super pleased to meet you! If you're looking to add an energetic and affectionate bunny to your family, I just may be your guy. I am also ready for any formal events you need a date for, thanks to my elegant and velvety-soft black and white fur. My foster mom says I am a blast to have around because I am so fearless and curious about everything. She also says I would make a great free-range bunny because I am so good about using my litter-box, even if I have to interrupt my exploring for a potty break.
But although I can keep myself very occupied, I love your attention too. I'll flop beside you and smoosh myself down as soon as you start petting me because I just can't get enough. In fact, if it is my reasoned opinion that you've been reading that book or looking at your phone long enough, I will come right over and grab it with my teeth and fling it to the side so that I can have your undivided attention. This handsome face isn't going to pet itself, after all! But if you're busy, that's cool too, because I have lots to discover. What do your socks taste like? What's on top of that box? What's behind that shelf? These are the questions that need answering, and I'm the bunny for the job. Sometimes I forget to look before I leap (and I can get pretty high up!) and then my foster mom has to rescue me from a situation I did not quite expect or plan for. I appreciate the help, but not the giggling!
Like most rabbits, it really scares me to be picked up - every instinct is telling me I'm about to be eaten if my feet are off the ground - so I prefer to hang out with you on the floor or after hopping up on the couch. While I've learned that you don't like being nipped (it's not your fault you don't have good sensible thick fur that makes nipping a decent communication method for us bunnies) sometimes I do forget or mistake your fingers for a treat, so I just need a little patience while I continue to learn about you lovely humans. In exchange for your understanding and kindness, I will provide all the trust and friendship and laughs a bunny can give!
I am currently spending time in a foster home, but if you would like to meet me simply call our adoption coordinators to set up an appointment time to have me brought to the shelter.
We want to alert you that some communities, landlords, management companies, and insurance agencies have size and breed restrictions, limits on number of pets, and/or require pet deposits or additional fees. Before adopting, we encourage all adopters to know what restrictions may apply to you.
