Harley Shih Tzu Eau Claire, WI

Well Hello There! Am I cute-as-a-button or what? My name is Harley and I am a 13-year-old neutered male Shih Tzu. I was surrendered to the shelter because my previous owner was no longer able to care for me. I have not had formal obedience training, but I am housebroken and I know sit, stay, and dance. I am crate-trained, and I also do well on leash. I am very alert to everything that is happening around me and I love to go on walks, well, unless there is a thunderstorm brewing - storms frighten me! They can be so loud, and I am so little. I am a good senior dog that does well with strangers, but I do have a bit of little dog attitude. I lived in the same quiet home my entire life without being exposed to children, so I will need a home without young kids. I also prefer a home as your only pet since that is what I am used to. I am a quiet, laid-back little guy, and I am the happiest when I am with humans that give me attention.

If you are not familiar with my breed I would like to let you know that like other breeds with short faces, I am sensitive to heat and should remain indoors in an air-conditioned home (or one with fans) on very hot days. Also, be prepared to brush and comb my coat every day as my coat mats easily. If you choose to keep my coat trimmed that will need to be done about every eight weeks.
