Meet Bindi
Hello Everyone, Bindi Here! I am a very high energy Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix in need of a home that can provide me with plenty of daily exercise and athletic activities. Perhaps an outdoorsy type family that would enjoy getting me involved in agility, flyball, or perhaps could teach me how to play fetch or catch a Frisbee. I am a good walker and I LOVE tug toys and Kongs. A requirement of adopting me is that you must take me to basic formal obedience training and I am VERY excited about that. I am sure to be a great student and promise to make you super proud of me!
I am a very pretty 1-year-old spayed female. Did you notice that I have one blue eye and one brown eye? It's called heterochromia, and makes me feel unique, but truth-be-told, it is fairly common for my breed.
I was surrendered to the shelter because I was starting to herd the young children that I lived with. This is why I must not go to a home with children under the age of 16. I am currently learning not to herd, and have been told that I am already doing much better. I am also learning not to guard things that I feel are mine. I did well with the two cats in my previous home and I am housebroken. I also know sit and stay.
I am friendly and see myself as a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - I just need a bit of dedicated positive training, treats, patience and love. I am a fun-loving and genuinely happy dog whose face lights up noticeably at the prospect of a walk or opportunity to play. I am so anxious to be adopted, and I would dearly love to become a cherished member of your household!
NOTE: I am currently enjoying time in a foster home, but PLEASE don't let that keep you from filling out an application for me! Once that is done an appointment can be made to have me brought to the shelter to spend some time with you and the application will be good for any dog here for up to 6 months.
Please be aware that because of the way this dog looks he may be perceived as a certain type. We want to alert you that some communities, landlords, management companies, and insurance agencies have size and breed restrictions, limits on number of pets, and/or require pet deposits or additional fees. Before adopting, we encourage all adopters to know what restrictions may apply to you.
