Meet Pandora

Pandora is a spayed female that was brought to the shelter as a 5-month-old stray on 02/08/18. She was sent to a foster home and this is what her foster mom has to say about her.

It has been quite the road with this little girl. Little Pandora has been with me for a couple months now. She came in semi-feral, very scared but able to be handled as long as you went slow. I brought her home the end of February and started the process of socializing her. Socializing this kind of cat can be a long process but a very rewarding one. I got to see her personality emerge. To go from this scared little thing that literally would play dead when you held her on your lap to a sweet little goofball that loves to play and likes getting chin scratches. My 3 cats and 2 dogs also played a huge part in helping to socialize her. She watched how my cats interacted with me, seeing that they held no fear while I picked them up and cuddled them. She watched the dogs race up to me for kisses and butt scratches. She still has a little ways to go, she is still nervous being approached, doesn't like being held by people, bites too hard when she tries to play with you and can be rough on furniture when trying to play, but she's still learning and needs just the right person to help her come out of her shell. Pandora is not the average cat, she will not be the instant cuddly companion some may want, in a way she is still finding herself. Pandora will require another cat that is outgoing and cat friendly to be her companion. She is currently in foster with 3 cats which she gets along with famously, they all help to reassure her that the world isn't so scary and teach her how to be a cat. She learns from her furry companions what is safe to interact with such as people. Pandora does get along with dogs, she lives with two dogs in her foster home one small and one medium sized. Pandora is so friendly she does not hesitate to just go right up to a strange dog, any potential homes with dogs MUST have a cat friendly tolerant dog. The best home for this little girl is a quiet home with another cat that will get along and play with her and a person that has a lot of patience to take things at Pandora's pace.
