Jaycee is a wonderful small Shepherd mix that was rescued from the Animal Friends of the Valley Shelter in Wildomar. She has a lovely Shepherd-type coat with an overall Shepherd look, but the size of a small Coyote, and though her ears are both downward, when happy or excited, one ear lifts up! Jaycee was surrendered by the owner, along with two other dogs; the owner stated he could not provide the proper care. Jaycee is age two, and only weighs 30 lbs., a great medium-sized dog! She is sweet, quiet, gentle, and very respectful of me and the other dogs. She is submissive, and has an easy-going nature and can totally chill and lie around and cuddle or hang out on the bed with me and the other dogs to watch T.V. (she is a master cuddler, so I admit, when I am lying down, or sitting on the couch, she has jumped up to cuddle and I have not stopped her) or play all day with another dog if there is another dog up for the task. Her grooming needs are typical to most Shepherd type breeds, brushing her occasionally to minimize the shedding factor, and an occasional bath.

Jaycee is affectionate and loving, slightly timid. She is a bit shy at first, when meeting new people, but has no defensive or aggressive traits whatsoever, and VERY much responds to the person using her name (which was J.C. in her former home, but we changed the spelling to Jaycee so that it can reflect a pretty girl’s name). Her name gives her comfort, to hear it, and she very much knows it!

Jaycee likes toys and can play with toys occasionally, on her own, or play with toys interactively with another dog that is up for play. She also LOVES her yard, often watching birds and squirrels (however we DO NOT adopt dogs to be “outdoor” dogs). She is potty-trained, never having an accident in the house yet, (however potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and is also crate-trained, for structure, mainly (since this is a rescue environment) for eating, sleeping, and when I am away from home for short periods, and does very well! Jaycee is one of the best dogs that I have ever had at the rescue; she is so easy and such a delight! She is people and dog friendly and loves to hang near me in the same room, lying on one of the pet beds, or playing with the other playful dogs that are here. She is kind, polite, and obedient. I have no idea how she is with cats. She walks fine on leash but as most all rescue dogs, could perfect the skill. She has a penchant for your slippers and socks so must put those up! LOL.

Jaycee is a fairly versatile dog that can adapt to several environments. Jaycee would really enjoy having a yard, to enjoy the outdoors, at will, so that will be a requirement. Also, she is so AMAZINGLY great with other dogs, big, small, male, female, that it would be a huge plus if she had another dog in the home to play with her. NOTE: We only adopt dogs as primarily INDOOR dogs no matter the size. Dogs can go outside to play, potty, to sun themselves at will, but should never be excluded to an outside area. We really appreciate when people take the time to set house manners and boundaries, instead of always having dogs outside. You do not need to give a dog the run of the entire house, and a crate is good for a transitional phase. Doggie doors are a plus but not required.

Jaycee is spayed, fully vaccinated (including rabies), Front-lined, dewormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in this sweet girl, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue unless you do not receive a response from your email.
