Tania was rescued from Kuwait. She is extremely intelligent and beautiful, but is very shy. She is currently living in a foster home with one other senior dog and two adults. Her foster family is working on building up her confidence. She has made a lot of progress since May when she came to live with us. In the past few months she has learned to walk nicely on a leash, she uses the dog door, she is potty trained and eats twice a day on a flexible schedule. She loves to leap around the dog park. However, she still retains shyness, when not on a walk Tania is most comfortable hanging out on her pillow inside her crate, she is very quiet, we have never heard her bark or make noise. Her food and water dish are right outside her sleeping space, she leans out to eat and drink. She does allow us to pet her, lean into her crate and snuggle her. But she is quite scared and this will require an owner with patience. She does not roam around the house, bark, or jump on our furniture.

We don't know much about Tania's past life and what caused her fearfulness, but she has proved that love and patience will allow her to recover and live the happy life that every dog deserves. For these reasons, we recommend Tania for a quiet home with adults or older children (high school). Please let me know if you're interested in setting up a visit with sweet Tania!

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering by visiting http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program/
