Maya Maltese Long Island City, NY

This calm Maltese was found on the street, abandoned by her previous family. She was placed at a shelter, but noone came to look for her nor trying to adopt her. She is estimated to be about two years old, and weighing about 8 lbs. Korea had one of the coldest winter this year, and the weather is still pretty chilly. (remember how cold it was during the Winter Olympics? Yeah..) We just cannot believe she was abandoned on the street, and she was able to survive the harsh winter weather while she was on the street. We are determined to change her faith and find her the perfect family here in the US! She is a perfect adorable Maltese who is calm and friendly, and she will be with one of our veteran foster mom upon her arrival. She received a clean bill of health from the vet, and she is ready to be adopted!

We believe people who adopt rescue animals because they are willing to accept a bit of imperfection, and willing to embrace, work/ train and love them no matter what baggage the animal had in the past. It can be challenging, but extremely rewarding. We have seen amazing transformation in our adopted dogs who have been with loving families, and it is our goal to provide all of them with the opportunity. We are at our happiest when we see photos of our adopted animals smile with the new adoptive family, and we hope to find Benji a loving family who would do the same.

*NOTE* We have a 30-mile radius limit from Fairfax, VA for adoption. We require a completed application & home check to adopt. An adoption fee of $500 applies. All dogs are spay/neutered and have all shots prior to adoption. Thank you!
